Banff, Alberta Mixed Media Layout

It sure has been a long time since I last crafted.  Life has just been a whirlwind and it sure felt good to be able to sit at my craft table and create a layout for a friend.  I was just a child the last time I visited Banff.  I had a great time seeing the beautiful views and making new memories!  I used a lot of products from Prima, Bo Bunny, Iamroses, Golden, Sa Crafters and Tim Holtz!  I love how the bricks came out and added depth and texture to the layout.  Using the Prima lightbulbs has been one of my most favorite embellishments so far!  I hope that you enjoy the pictures.  Comments are always welcome and appreciated!!!!

Canvas for my brother's first child & Add A Little P.O.P Challenge

Hi Everyone,

This canvas is also for the Add A Little P.O.P challenge for Inspiration Emporium.  I can't get enough of making these canvas'.  This canvas was calling out to me when I first saw the picture that my brother took of his son with my grandmother.  A little info:  My grandmother is in a senior's long term care facility.  This is her first great grandson to carry on our family name, so to say the least it is a very special moment.  The picture that my brother captured was just priceless.  The smile on her face is one that we seldom ever see, so when I saw the picture I knew that I had to do something special with it.  This is one of two canvas' that I made using the same photo but in different sizes.  This first one is for my brother and the second one is for my grandmother's room.

I used the Tim Holtz Musical Tissue Wrap for the background of the canvas.  I used a Crafter's Workshop stencil and some molding paste to add some texture.  After it dried, I sprayed tons of Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays along with my favorite Tattered Angels Sweet Clover spray.  I used an enormous amount of embellishments to adorn this beautiful picture.  Here is a list of products that I used:

Paper Doily
Prima Flowers
I am Roses flowers and leaves
Michael's Metal Key
Prima Zipper
Bottle Cap
Tattered Angel Card
Tim Holtz Pattern Paper
American Craft Letters
Wild Orchid Craft Flowers
Metal Clock from Scrapbooking with ME
Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Golden Gesso and Molding Paste
Trims from Karlas001

I hope you enjoy this beautiful creation for an even more amazing picture!  Thank baby brother for the inspiration!

Regards,

Corduroy Canvas for my daughter's 20th Birthday

It has definitely been a long time since I last blogged.  Life has thrown me some curves and I haven't had time to do any crafting.  Now I've worked on a few projects that I would love to share with you.  This first project is something that I wanted to make for my daughter.  We use to have this handsome little guy in our family but due to time issues we had to find him a new home.  So in memory of him I decided to make this so that my daughter can reflect back on all that he brought into our lives.

I was inspired by the talented Limor Webber http://chicscrapbookdesigns.blogspot.ca/ during one of her ustream videos.  Thank you so much for giving me some mojo to create this beautiful canvas for my daughter to treasure for years to come.

I used sewing pattern paper and stamps from Tim Holtz to create the background paper.  I also used paper from a Recollection Line called Union Square.  Flowers were a mix between Prima Marketing Flowers, IamRoses, Wild Orchid Crafts and a handmade crochet flower that I made.  I used a stencil from Crafter's Workshop, Golden Molding Paste and Gesso and many sprays from Lindy's Stamp Gang.  I used letters from American Crafts and the amazing Prima tools from Ingvild Bolme.  I fussy cut out some of the papers to add dimension and also added some flower sprays to the sides of the canvas.

I had a great time making this and hope that you enjoy it as well.  Comments are always welcome.

Katherine Lonuzzo

January YouTube Layout Hop

Well it is that time of month again.  This month our theme for our scrapbook layout was "pick your own theme".  Let me tell you, I was overjoyed.  I wanted to continue working on my Breast Cancer Journey album and had the perfect pictures for it.  I hope you enjoy this layout and get some inspiration from it!  I will also post a link of the YouTube video below the pictures.

I used pink sheer box pleated ribbon and some clear iridescent flower trim around the picture.  I also used some Wild Orchid Craft Flowers and paper doily surrounding the layout.  I added a dragonfly pendant to the top right of the picture and then used a Prima Sweet Fairy journal tag along with the letter "K" bling from Michael's.  I added the words using American Craft thickers alphabets.  The layout was made using the breast cancer paper by Slice.  Super gorgeous paper.

On the second page of the layout I used the same papers from Slice.  I took one of the Prima Sweet Fairy journal tags and cut it in half to use on both pictures.  I used some recollections bling,  Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, a Petaloo flower, button from a dear SS and a mybutterflykisses flower from Karlas001's etsy store. These photos were taken at my boudoir/survivor photo shoot done by Vibe Photography.

Here is the link to the YouTube video on this layout.

Final post for 2011

Hello Everyone,

It's that time of year again.  The final day of the year!  I am excited to go and visit with some friends tonight for a quiet dinner and board games before ringing in the new year.  It is also my husband's birthday today!  Happy Birthday Honey!  I love you very much!  I hope that everyone has a wonderfully blessed and safe New Year!

My final project of the year was something I made for my best friend.  She starting scrapbooking because of me many years ago but has only really started to enjoy it and evolve over the last 10 months.  I love spending crafting time with her.  This year I decided to go all out on her Christmas gift.  I know that she won't spend a lot of money to feed her love of crafting so I decided a few months ago that I was going to get her the things she wouldn't buy for herself.  I filled a 2 cubic foot box about 3/4 full of all scrappy goodness for her.  She couldn't believe how much I bought.  I made sure she had a good cutter, a heat gun, the TH tiny attacher, a glass mat, lots of 12 x 12 patterned paper, some colored cardstock, flowers, bling, Michael's mini frames, Prima goodness and much much more.  To say the least, she was absolutely speechless.  That is the best gift that anyone could give me.  The looks on their faces of sheer joy is gift enough alone!  I had to ensure that there was a crafted item in her box and this is what I came up with.  I hope you like this as much as I did making it!  Thanks so much for stopping by and showing your support and love!  Would love to hear your comments!

This is the top of the box.  It is decorated with some white lace trim, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, pearl sprays from Michael's and a big silk blue rose from Walmart.  I truly love how this came together.  The box had the patterned paper as seen but I decided to cover the sides and bottom with a different pattern paper to tone it down.  I added some pearl strands from Karlas001's etsy store to finish off the top.

This is a different angle of the box.

This is a picture of the cluster of flowers and sprays.

A side view of the flower cluster.

The front side of the box.  I added this sticker from Imaginations and then some more Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and Iamroses flowers along with bling from Recollections.  I also used mesh bling and pearl strands to decorate the edges.

Side of box with bling from Recollections and lace, mesh bling and pearl strands.

The back of the box using two colors of bling from Recollections, lace, mesh bling and more pearl strands.

The right side using bling from Recollections, mesh bling, lace and pearl strands.

Thank you so much for all your support this year!  I look forward to getting to know more of you in the coming years!  Would love to hear some comments and feedback!  Take care and a very Happy New Year to all of you!
